Lifeline at the Sustainable Living Festival

This is a bit of a late blog but I only found out about it whilst browsing on Facebook and still thought it would be good to blog about.  I got in touch with Chloe at Lifeline and she tells us a little of what happened on the day.

Saturday January 14th the Sustainable Living Festival was held in Warrnambool on the Civic Green.

Lifeline was invited to hold a stall and take part in a fashion parade. It is a city council run event, the festival raises awareness about sustainable business, environmental products and local community recycling efforts.

The parade was held at midday, The theme was Sustainable Seasons- Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, with a Black and White Finale.

We had 5 Models in 5 outfits parading on the Civic Green stage to a sound track of classic songs.

Summer- Summer Wind by Sinatra

The Autumn Leaves by Nat King Cole, Hazy Shade of Winter by Simon and Garfunkel, Spring Fever by Elvis and Florence and Machine for Finale

All clothing and accessories was from Lifeline Warrnambool Shop, which is part of Lifeline South West, there are other stores in Hamilton, Terang, Portland, Camperdown and Port Fairy.

We were promoting sustainable fashion, through buying second hand and also targeting a new market of recycling conscious buyers who like vintage, to make the community aware of the great clothing stock we have in store.

The styling was by store manager Chloe Mae (me) and Hair by Karen at Sable Hair."

How much fun does this look!!!

  2. Great clothes. I love op shops. Darwin doesn't have much vintage.
